“Bells Are Ringing” – Bells Are Ringing

Music: Jule Styne   Lyrics: Betty Comden & Adolph Green

This number sounds like a holiday song mixed with an old radio commercial and opens this cheery musical about a woman who works at an answering service.  Inspired by the life of phone operator Mary Printz, born on this day in 1923, the musical may be a bit old hat for modern audiences, but for some that only adds to its appeal.
