“Popcorn” – Little By Little
Music: Brad Ross Lyrics: Ellen Greenfield & Hal Hackaday
In this musical about the evolution of friendship once hormones are added to the mix, a man contemplates making a move through the passing of popcorn as his target nervously considers how to react if he does during this song. Popcorn was surely being passed between many couples on this day in 1939 when Gone With the Wind* premiered, the highest-grossing film of all time (when adjusted for inflation).
*There have been several musical adaptations of Gone With the Wind, none of which have come close to matching the success of the film.
