“Sing for Your Supper” – The Boys From Syracuse

Music: Richard Rodgers   Lyrics: Lorenz Hart

A trio of ladies trill this appetizing tune toward the end of this musical about mistaken identities based on Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors.  Today it is a tribute to the boys from A Walk Around Britain, a group of modern-day traveling pilgrims who literally sing for their supper.  On this day in 2009, the first review was published of the first album they released, a collection of folk songs that would make the composers of The Boys From Syracuse happily feed the boys from Britain.
