“Queenie was a Blond” – The Wild Party          Music and Lyrics: Michael John LaChiusa

&

“Queenie was a Blond” – The Wild Party           Music and Lyrics: Andrew Lippa

Two different musicals.  Both opened in 2000, one on Broadway (LaChiusa), the other off-Broadway (Lippa).  Both based on the same controversial poem by Joseph Moncure March who was born on this day in 1899.  All three stories open with “Queenie was a blond…” and the decadent revelry unfolds from there.  Whichever song you prefer, you’re in for a wild party.
